An opportunity to see the north coast like never before, visit every beach on our coast, enjoy an epic beach breakfast, crazy rock formations, migrating whales (June-November) and dolphins frolicking in the surf. Sound like your sort of adventure?

About The Tidal Trail

Distance: About 8-9Km's over varied terrain, some areas are rocky, others beautiful open sandy beaches

Time: 4-5 hours: Including numerous rest stops, dolphin and whale watching, breakfast on the beach and exploring.

Fitness required: This is an easy walk for anyone of  reasonable fitness level. It is not strenuous at all, but there are some sections that require scrambling over rocks and some tricky terrain.

Trails are run in the mornings when the conditions are at their best, the exact times and dates are very reliant on the tides (we must walk the trail on an outgoing tide to avoid being unable to cross certain stretches) - please drop us a line to enquire about the tides and possibility of doing the trail on your preferred date

What to expect and see

The Tidal Trail starts off with the first few kilometers along beautiful, pristine beaches where you are unlikely to see many other people. You will see some amazing views and almost guaranteed a chance of seeing Dolphins playing in the waves and Whales during the whale season (June-November)

The Trail incorporates almost all of Ballito & the North Coasts popular beaches, including Sheffield Beach, Thompson's Bay and Chaka's Rock ....and everything in-between. You will be amazed at the variety of interesting rock formations, beautiful vistas and life in the many many rock pools you will encounter along this walk
